Julianna “Jules” Moseley grew up in Newberg. She spent years working in the distilling industry before the pandemic brought her back to Oregon, and during that transition she stopped drinking liquor. She drank wine occasionally, but something was missing.

Her diagnosis of the problem is worth quoting. There’s a ton of wine out here, she said, but we’re only doing one thing with it. Wine bars are everywhere — and there are great wines and great wine bars — but what about the people who want a casual experience and can’t afford a twenty-dollar glass? Where’s the middle ground?

For Moseley, that middle ground was sangria.

At its core it’s fresh fruit steeped in wine, but it can be built out with liqueurs, spices, and carbonation — a canvas rather than a party punch. Harvest Moon makes theirs with local Oregon wines, fresh fruit, and herbs, with flavor profiles that shift with the seasons. Flights let you work through several at once, and the names are half the fun.

The first location opened in Tigard. Newberg followed in 2025, in her hometown, in a bright open room on First Street. It’s Oregon’s first sangria bar and one of very few anywhere in the country.

The food turned out to be more than an afterthought. Tapas with bold flavors and real plating, nachos that get named in nearly every review, fondue with fresh vegetables and fruit, cheesy bread, burgers, and craft cocktails alongside the sangria.

Common questions

What’s a sangria flight?
Several sangrias poured side by side so you can taste across the range. It’s the way to start, and the flavor profiles change with the seasons.

Is it just sangria?
No — craft cocktails, a full tapas menu, and weekend brunch.

What should I eat?
The nachos, which come up in nearly every account. The fondue with fresh fruit and vegetables too, and the cheesy bread.

Is brunch worth it?
Guests rank it among the best in the area. The French toast flight and the OG Benedict both get named.

Is it expensive?
No, and that’s the point. Moseley built this specifically as the middle ground between a wine bar and nothing.

Is there another location?
Yes, the original in Tigard.

Who’s behind it?
Jules Moseley, a Newberg native who came back from the distilling industry to open it.

Where is it?

East First Street in downtown Newberg, walkable to the shops, Chapters, and Barley & Vine.
