A family estate on the south side of the Chehalem Mountains, planted in 1976 by Carol and Peter Adams out of a shared love of wine, food, and farming. The original operation, Adams Vineyard, later added Sauvignon Blanc using purchased fruit before the winery was sold to Paul Hart and Jan Jacobson of Rex Hill in 1995. The family returned to production in 2008 under the Trout Lily Ranch name, taken from the wildflowers growing wild on the property — four nodding blossoms representing Peter, Carol, and their daughters Portland and Fanny.

A block of the original Pommard remains in the ground, joined by younger plantings of Pommard, 777, and 667 Pinot Noir clones alongside Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay Noir, Trousseau Noir, and Chardonnay. Farming is certified sustainable. Kelly Kidneigh, a friend and neighbor, made the wine for fourteen years; in 2023 son-in-law Jacob Hale took over alongside colleague Alex Clark, with production currently at Zenith Vineyard in Salem.

Daughter Fanny and her husband Jacob now run the business with Peter and Carol. Fanny designs the labels and leads events and the wine club; Jacob oversees production in the fall and hosts tastings in spring and summer. Tastings are held at the farmhouse by appointment, overlooking the vineyard, with wooden rope swings hung through the property.

Same land and family. The original winery sold to Rex Hill in 1995; the family relaunched under this name in 2008.

Quiet and wooded, with rope swings through the trees. Guests describe losing track of time there.
