Bellingar Estates

A small family-owned winery at the base of the Chehalem Mountains outside Newberg, founded by Evan and Kim Bellingar. Evan knew he wanted to work in wine before he had ever tasted it, studied horticulture and viticulture at Oregon State, and is the founder and president of Century Vineyards, a local vineyard management company. Kim spent more than a decade in operations at Adelsheim Vineyard. Kim left her day job in January 2020 to open the tasting room, alongside board work with the Willamette Valley Wineries Association, the founding of the Willamette Valley Wineries Foundation, and the Pacific Northwest Leadership Council for the Children’s Cancer Association.

The estate produces Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and a red blend. The tasting room overlooks the vineyard and a cut flower garden, with Kim’s brightly colored arts and crafts displayed and available for purchase. Chickens roam the property. A 1,900-year-old clay wine amphora is on display, acquired after Evan’s interest in ancient coins led him to it. The couple are raising three young children on the farm, and the atmosphere reflects that — warm, informal, and openly family-friendly. Bungalow accommodations are available on the property, opening directly onto the vineyard.
