Why I love Oregon Wine Country

Oregon Wine Country is special because it feels both grounded and extraordinary. The scenery is stunning: vineyards, winding back roads, and mountain views. But what makes this place truly shine is the people. Yamhill County still feels like a small town. I run into familiar faces everywhere I go, and folks are genuinely kind and willing to lend a hand. As a small business owner, I’ve felt deeply supported here. There’s a real sense of community and collaboration that makes this region more than a destination.

Where to Stay

  • Willamette Valley B&B – small, privately owned, nice rooms, supporters of the community
  • The Atticus – great location, quality rooms & service, thoughtful boutique hotel
  • The Vintages – unique & fun, centrally located

Where to Eat

  • Loam – maple fried chicken waffles, local ingredients, always something new
  • The Conservatory – burgers & cocktails, relaxed vibe;
  • Thistle – local ingredients and killer cocktails. I see these folks at the farmers market every week buying local.

Where to Taste & Drink

  • Granville – most complete experience, excellent wine & service, gorgeous views, quintessential Oregon wine;
  • Natalie’s Estate Winery – small, family-run, owners are super friendly, they make wines you don’t normally find in the WV;
  • Raw Cider Co. – best cider around, unique apples & range of styles, approachable for both newbies and cider nerds;
  • Branch Point Distillery – truly local whiskey, local grain, quality whiskeys for collecting & gifting, great people & atmosphere.
