Chapters Books & Coffee

Chapters is an independent bookstore with a proper coffee counter serving Caravan Coffee and other locally roasted beans. There’s a strong tea selection alongside the coffee, ice cream, and a great selection of games for board game nerds.

You’ll find cookbooks, best sellers and staff picks along with a curated selection of genuine gamers board games. It’s the kind of shop where you go in for one thing and leave with something you’d never heard of.

Open until six every day, which makes it useful as an afternoon retreat as much as a morning stop — and Newberg is thin on places open late in the day.

The one weak point is parking. Plan to walk a block, which is easy enough given everything else on First Street.
