The Dundee Hotel

The Dundee sits on 99W in the middle of town, and its central proposition is simple: the first floor is tasting rooms and a restaurant, the floors above are hotel. You can check in, walk downstairs, and taste four different producers without touching the car.

Those tasting rooms are La Biblioteca, Le Cadeau, North Valley Vineyards, and Angela Estate — a Burgundian winemaker’s small-production label, a Parrett Mountain estate with nineteen Pinot clones, a house pouring across six sub-AVAs, and a Yamhill-Carlton vineyard originally made by Ken Wright. That’s a genuinely good afternoon in one building.

There are 22 rooms, each different, with bold locally inspired color, curated regional art, and custom artisan-made headboards. Luxury mattresses, plush linens, high ceilings, large showers, robes. Compact rooms at the entry level up through King Suites with loveseats and desk space.

The Squad Room is the one worth knowing about. Six custom bunk beds, an entertainment area with a wet bar and games, and an oversized bathroom — built for a group that wants to stay together rather than book five rooms. Guests describe five adults in it working better than expected.

There’s a cafe and bar with a terrace and fireplace, complimentary parking, and board games at the desk. Dogs are welcome, and guests mention that repeatedly.

The concierge is the other thing that comes up. Claire, the concierge manager, arranges tastings, handles special occasions, and plans itineraries before guests arrive. Several reviews are essentially about her.
