Rob and Maria Stuart founded R. Stuart & Co. in 2001 after more than twenty years of making wine for other people. What they wanted was a winery where the quality stayed high and the price didn’t, where growers and staff were honored, and where customers were treated as friends.

Overall production, including custom crush efforts, average around 6,000-9,000 cases from vineyards mostly within thirty miles of McMinnville. Big Fire is the everyday Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. Love, Oregon honors the pioneers who crossed the Trail. The R. Stuart Reserve label carries single-vineyard expression of Pinot Noirs from multiple AVAs. Three méthode champenoise sparklers round it out, plus port-style wines.

The winery occupies a converted granary in McMinnville’s Granary District. The wine bar and tasting room sit a few blocks away on Third Street.

Do I need a reservation?
No, walk-ins are welcome. Reservations required for groups of six or more.

How late are they open?
Until 8 every night, which makes this one of the few places on Third Street for an after-dinner glass.

What should I taste?
Staple tasting flights of R. Stuart include the Mixed Flight, which includes white and reds from multiple R. Stuart wine families; the Reserve Flight is a side-by-side tasting of four single vineyard Pinot noirs, allowing guests to explore the valley from a glass.

Is there food?
Small bites, including cheese plate and seasonal selections from Thistle Restaurant, and warm rosemary cashews that get mentioned in nearly every review.

Can I visit the winery?
