Amy Rubottom is a native Oregonian who moved to Newberg in 2006, a University of Oregon graduate married to her high school sweetheart. She loved fashion and got tired of driving to find what she wanted, so in 2007 she opened her own shop and named it for her daughter Nikki Jane. Her younger daughter is Whitney; there are two pugs, Jake and Lu.

She started on Portland Road and moved downtown in 2013.

The buying philosophy is what sets it apart. Inventory cycles in one to two weeks rather than arriving late and sitting until it sells, with new arrivals landing multiple times a week. The focus is on helping busy mothers and working women stay current without sacrificing comfort — casual everyday pieces, date night outfits, and vacation ensembles.

Denim is the specialty. Joe’s, Risen, 7 For All Mankind, and others, with staff who will walk you through how the fits have changed and how to style them. That last part comes up constantly in guest accounts — people describe being talked through current trends and leaving with ideas rather than just a bag.

Alongside the clothing are sweaters, skirts, tops, hats, scarves, shoes, boots, and jewelry. The room has chandeliers and a European feel.

Two practical things worth knowing: there’s a play area for kids so parents can actually try things on, and they’ve partnered with Chelsea from Rethread Alterations, who meets clients at the boutique by appointment.
