Velour

Velour has been buying, trading, and selling vintage since 2011. Their line is “moving history forward, one piece at a time,” and the inventory backs it up: a pair of army fatigues, selvedge Levi’s 501s, a perfectly distressed vintage cotton white tee, a customized ’70s Lee Rider with a flying eagle back patch, a Marlboro Man style sheepskin coat, a deadstock 1930s United-Alls coverall, a 1950s Levi’s Type II jacket.

The buying is specific. American workwear — chore coats, work shirts, coveralls, and overalls. Denim, military, western wear, Native American jewelry, vintage tees. Women’s clothing running back to the Victorian era, plus handmade quilts and a deep selection of old boots and shoes in genuinely wearable condition. Nothing made after the 1990s.

Every piece is written up honestly. Their product listings note the fraying, the fading, the pen mark on the right sleeve, the name a previous owner scrawled inside the collar. That candor is much of why the shop has over 30,000 followers on Instagram (@shopvelour) and why people plan trips to Newberg to see it.

Stephen, the owner, usually runs the floor himself, and reviewers consistently describe long conversations about the pieces. Prices come up repeatedly as fair, which in curated vintage is not a given.

They also buy. Walk-in buying happens Thursdays from 10 to 5, paying 30% cash or 50% in store credit of their retail price. Send photos ahead if you’re unsure whether something qualifies.
