Clementine opened in March 2026 in the old First Street Pub location, and it filled a gap Newberg had been feeling for a while.

Booths line one half of the dining room; the other is counter service with couches and easy chairs. A pool table sits up front — a nod to the building’s history as a pool hall — and a stage fills the back corner. Vintage neon, old bicycles on the walls, a vibe somewhere between a 1960s diner and someone’s very cool basement. The intent was a neighborhood living room: accessible, unpretentious, and open to a broad cross-section of the community.

The kitchen runs new American, with a wood-fired oven at the center turning out flatbreads and dishes like wood-fired mussels. Seasonal produce from local farms and local proteins anchor the menu, at price points deliberately more accessible than their sister restaurant at Loam. The bar pairs a full craft cocktail list with a serious non-alcoholic selection, and the wine list leans toward small producers — particularly local wineries without tasting rooms of their own.

Then there’s the part that makes Clementine genuinely different around here. Families are welcome until 8 p.m.; after that on Fridays and Saturdays, the room turns over to live bands and late-night programming. Second Saturday comedy nights have found an audience too. Newberg has wanted late-night options for years — this is the answer.
