Newberg Pickleball Club started in 2021 and is an organized group with regular play with seasonal tournaments. The Facebook group is where people sort out times, courts, and tournaments.

They play at two places. Jaquith Park has 12 courts (6 are available right now as the other 6 are under construction), free to play. Chehalem Aquatic and Fitness Center on  Villa has 3 indoor (non-dedicated) courts with permanent lines and portable nets. There is a fee to play at the Chehalem Aquatic and Fitness Center.

The Newberg Pickleball Club runs clinics and community events and shares equipment with members. Newberg has 20 courts total and 455 registered players.

If you’re passing through with a paddle, message the group before you come. Somebody will tell you where to be.

Can visitors play?
Yes. Jaquith Park is free and open. Chehalem Aquatic requires membership, but day passes are available.

How do I find a game?
Message the Facebook group. People post times and organize there, and you’ll hear back fast.

Do I need my own paddle?
The club shares equipment with members, but bring one if you’re visiting.

How many courts?
Twelve at Jaquith with more coming, three indoors at Chehalem Aquatic. Twenty in Newberg altogether.

What does membership get me?
It’s a chapter of the Columbia River Pickleball Club, so you get access to all their locations, clinics, and social events.

Are there tournaments?
Yes, and the group is where you’ll hear about them. Salem hosts the Willamette Valley Open, the largest indoor tournament in the state.

Is it beginner-friendly?

Yes. They run clinics and the scene is friendly by reputation.
