Over ten years ago I managed ART Elements Gallery in Newberg, and a good part of that job was scouring the Pacific Northwest for sculpture artists. I found some of the most wonderful people, and their work has since traveled across the country into commercial properties, private homes, and public spaces.
Some of it landed twenty minutes up the road.
The Allison Inn & Spa holds more than 500 pieces of original Oregon artwork installed throughout the property — paintings, glass, ceramics, and the sculpture collection scattered across the grounds. Some belong to the hotel permanently. Others are for sale, rotating as they find buyers.
The stroll is worth it on its own. The landscaping is lush, the paths are quiet, and the valley opens up beyond the gardens. The sculptures take it somewhere else entirely — you round a corner and there’s something that stops you.
Ask the concierge for a map. It’s free, you don’t have to be a guest, and most people who stay here never realize the collection is out there at all.
