A family-owned estate on 35 acres in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, just north of the Dundee Hills, founded by Jon and Lesli Owens. Jon’s family has been in Oregon for eight generations; his great-great-great-grandparents traveled the Oregon Trail in 1850, and the Heritage 1850 Pinot Noir takes its name from that. The vineyard sits on a south-southeast slope rising from 325 to 450 feet on well-drained soils, dry-farmed and hand-harvested.

The estate range is unusually broad: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at the core, plus Gamay Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Aligoté, Pinot Meunier, a Rosé of Gamay Noir, and Champagne-method sparkling from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Aligoté in particular is rare in Oregon and draws comparisons to Burgundy. Wines are made with winemaker Laurent Montalieu in a Burgundian style, barreled and bottled with NW Wine Company.

Farming is organic, with LIVE, Salmon Safe, and Bee Friendly Farming certifications, and the property generates solar power with a goal of producing more than it consumes. The Estate House tasting room opened to the public in April 2024, designed with a gallery-like feel and a full commercial kitchen supporting owner-hosted dinners, guest chef features, private events, and catered gatherings. Sandwiches and charcuterie are available with tastings. Programming includes a Sips and Sounds live music series, plein air painting, star parties with the Carlton Observatory, brunches, and harvest dinners.
