Breakside Dundee Beer & Alit Wine Bar

Breakside Brewery started in Northeast Portland in 2010 as a restaurant and pub brewery, and has grown into a regional operation producing around 30,000 barrels a year across eight locations. Alit is a small-scale Willamette Valley winery working with Chilean-born winemaker Felipe Ramirez of NW Wine Company, sourcing from vineyards across the valley.

The two came together gradually. Breakside began pouring Alit wines at its Portland locations in 2017, and both founder Scott Lawrence and restaurants director Dan Brownhill joined the Alit wine club that same year. When managing partner Ian Lombard decided to sell, the conversation was already underway. Breakside took a controlling interest on March 1, 2025, along with the nearly one-acre property.

The result is one of the few places in wine country where a group doesn’t have to agree. Six rotating Breakside taps and a full cooler of cans and bottles to go, alongside the complete Alit lineup by the glass, bottle, or guided flight. They’ve also started importing Grand Cru Champagne from Avize.

The space is modern and light — 1,400 square feet with floor-to-ceiling windows on three walls, comfortable seating including a couch, plus an expansive front patio with picnic tables and a year-round outdoor tent. It sits right at the only stoplight in downtown Dundee, which makes getting back onto 99W considerably easier than at most stops. Parking is in the back.
