A Dundee winery established in 2015 by founder and winegrower James Cahill, a veteran of more than 25 Oregon harvests. The premise is regional rather than site-specific: fruit is sourced from partner vineyards across the six sub-appellations of the northern Willamette Valley — Dundee Hills, Ribbon Ridge, Yamhill-Carlton, Eola-Amity Hills, Chehalem Mountains, and McMinnville — with the resulting portfolio functioning as a map of the region.
Two estate vineyards anchor the farming: Aegrina in the McMinnville AVA and the North Valley Estate in Yamhill-Carlton, the latter sitting adjacent to Shea, Penner-Ash, and Beaux Frères. Fruit also comes from the well-regarded Thoma Vineyard in the Dundee Hills. Cahill describes the grower relationships as the North Valley Cooperative and North Valley Collective, with sustainability and quality as shared conditions. Production centers on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and dry Rosé.
The tasting room sits at the west end of downtown Dundee within The Dundee Hotel. Walk-ins and reservations are both accepted, with Tock booking available; groups over six should call ahead. Well-behaved leashed pets are welcome in the tasting room. Private events and off-hours tastings can be arranged through the hospitality manager.
No, walk-ins are welcome, though booking is easy through Tock. Call for parties over six. The flight spans multiple AVAs, so it’s the fastest way to figure out which part of the valley suits your palate before planning the rest of your visit. The Thoma Vineyard bottling from the Dundee Hills, and ask about the Roe & Roe. Yes, leashed and off the furniture. Two — Aegrina in McMinnville AVA and North Valley Estate in Yamhill-Carlton, next to Shea, Penner-Ash, and Beaux Frères. Inside The Dundee Hotel on 99W, at the west end of downtown Dundee. Easy parking, easy to combine with other stops.
