A neighborhood market, restaurant, and gathering place in downtown Carlton, formerly operating as Park & Main and rebranded as The Ground Market. The business is part of The Ground, a collection of hospitality destinations rooted in regenerative agriculture, alongside Tabula Rasa Farms — founded by Brenda Smola-Foti in 2018 — and Kookoolan Farms, established in 2005 by Chrissie and Koorosh Zaerpoor.
The retail side carries pasture-raised meats, farm eggs, seasonal produce, local wine and beer, and curated pantry goods. The kitchen serves wood-fired pizza with seasonal toppings and a gluten-free crust option, sandwiches, salads, and cocktails, with many ingredients coming directly from Tabula Rasa Farms. Small-batch ice cream is made in house, including old-fashioned, dairy-free, and spirited (21+) options, alongside an old-fashioned candy counter.
Live music runs on the back porch every Thursday through the summer. The market also appears at farmers markets across Portland and the Willamette Valley and ships curated protein boxes, herd shares, and garden shares nationwide through its online store. Ordering is at the counter, with indoor and outdoor seating.
