Black Tie Tours

Overview

Stefan Czarnecki is probably the driver who’s driven more roads than anyone in this valley. Ask around at the tasting rooms and lodging partners — he’s the name that comes up.

What sets Black Tie apart isn’t the vehicle. It’s the questionnaire. You fill one out before your trip, and Stefan’s team builds the day around your actual answers rather than the standard four-winery loop everyone else runs. That means you might end up somewhere you’d never have found, poured by the person who made it. Guests routinely come back saying the best stop of their trip was one the driver suggested that morning.

They’ll take anywhere from one person to twenty-five, handle all the reservations, and run dinner transportation on top of the tasting day.

Then there’s the truffle tours, which is where Stefan really lives. Oregon grows native truffles in the winter months, and he takes people out into the woods to dig them up. He’s the one KGW (the Portland news station) calls when they cover Newberg Truffle Month. If you’re here between December and February and wondering what there is to do, this is the answer nobody else will give you.

If you’d rather plan your own route and just need the driving handled, that’s straightforward: $95 an hour for up to five people with a four-hour minimum, $150 an hour for six to fourteen with a six-hour minimum. Dinner transport is extra.
