Located next door to the Painted Lady Restaurant and the perfect place to stay and walk to all of downtown Newberg.
The cottage itself is 1,100 square feet, two bedrooms, one and a half baths, sleeping four. The bedrooms sit on opposite sides of the house, which makes it work as well for two couples as it does for one. There’s a comfortable sitting area, an outdoor entertaining space, and shower pressure that guests bring up unprompted.
The kitchen is where it shows who built it. Jessica and Chef Allen Routt bought this place in 2006, a year after opening the restaurant, having worked at The Inn at Little Washington and wanted to offer the same thing here — dinner and a bed, under the same care.
Street parking is easy, usually right out front. Downtown Newberg, the shops, the galleries, and the Chehalem Cultural Center are a few minutes on foot, and you’re five minutes from the Dundee Hills.
If you book in the off season, there’s usually a gift card promo with the restaurant.
