A five-room bed and breakfast on eight acres atop Chehalem Mountain, roughly 1,000 feet above the Willamette Valley with views across vineyards, orchards, and the Coast Range. Kristin and Curt Fintel bought the property with a half-finished house in 2005, worked with an architect and contractor to complete it, and opened in August 2007. Kristin, a Western Culinary Institute-trained former pastry chef, runs day-to-day operations as innkeeper and chef, supported by assistant innkeepers.
Each room has a private en suite bathroom and is themed around a piece of Oregon: the Oregon Coast Room, Rose Garden Room, Wine Country Room, Oregon Trail Room, and High Desert Suite. Amenities include memory foam mattresses, clawfoot and jetted tubs, walk-in showers, fireplaces in select rooms, and private decks or balconies with valley views. Common areas include a library, a guest refrigerator and microwave, and decks where breakfast is served in good weather.
A three-course gourmet breakfast is included, made with local and house-made ingredients — house jams, rhubarb muffins, fresh-baked pastries — with dietary restrictions and food allergies accommodated with advance notice. The innkeepers help guests plan winery visits and arrange transportation and tours. More than 60 wineries sit within a 20-minute drive downhill. A J1772 EV charger with a NACS adapter for Tesla is available on site. Portland is about 45 minutes away.
